Koh Lipe, Thailand

Koh Lipe can be known as "Koh Lipeh", "Ko Lipey", and "Ko Lipe". It is a secret island that located in the Adang-Rawi Archipelago of the Andaman Sea, in Satun Province of southwest Thailand, and close to the Malaysian border.

Koh Lipe’s white sandy beaches are perfect for relaxing and can snorkel right of all them. Several top dive sites are close by for the more adventurous underwater explorers. People can sleep in anything from simple bamboo huts to plush luxury resorts with a swimming pool. There is a great variety of restaurants on the island ranging from tasty Thai street food to delicious international cuisine. Sunrise Beach features a long stretch of stand in a wide, shallow bay. The school, hospital and a small Chao Ley village are located here.

Pattaya Beach is Koh Lipe's main beach is a large sheltered bay with soft powdery sand, crystal-clear blue water and good snorkeling right from the beach. 

Sunset Beach is a small bay facing west to the rest of the island group, and, as the name suggests, is a great place to watch the sunset, or ships cruising the channel. 

Things to Do

Koh Lipe has great Snorkeling straight off all the beaches. The undersea views sure will give travelers unexpected screen. 

Diving is the one of the activities that can't miss out! Travelers will marvel when plunge to deep channels below.

Travelers can also try Ocean Kayaking in Koh Lipe. Kayaking around Lipe Island can be done in just a couple of hours. 

Shopping: The main tourist area downtown -Walking Street. Local specialties, food and funny stuff can be finds out at here.

The Location and Way Getting There

Koh Lipe is located 60 km from the Thai Main land, the closest pier is in Pak Bara. It is the most Southern island in Thailand and on a clear day you can see Langkawi Island in Malaysia, which is just 30 km away.

The main transport hub for Koh Lipe is Pak Bara with daily boats running all year. Minibuses and taxi’s are available to the closest airport in Hat Yai, or to other destinations in the south like Krabi and Ao Nang.

In high season daily boats connect Koh Lipe to Langkawi, Koh Lanta, Koh Phi Phi, Phuket and other islands in the Andaman Sea.
